Our Story

VEA was created from a real story of a dog and a human

The inspiration behind VEA is deeply personal for me. I adopted my Shiba Inu, Taki, from a shelter, and he had been through significant trauma, arriving with no medical history at all. It was heartbreaking to realize how much critical information was missing, making it hard to give him the care he needed. That experience opened my eyes to the gaps in veterinary care, particularly around record-keeping and diagnostics, and how animals like Taki often fall through the cracks.

Having a background in AI and technology, I couldn't help but think how much better things could be with the right tools. After over a decade working in healthcare AI and process improvement, I saw a huge opportunity to make a real difference in veterinary care. I created VEA with the hope of transforming how we care for animals—by improving diagnostics, treatment planning, and making workflows easier, especially for those that need it most, like Taki.
